[原创]新目标英语八年级(上)Unit 1 Period 2 教学设计

Unit 1  How often do you exercise?

Period 2

Teaching aims(教学目标):

After this lesson the students will be able to

1.        use the following words & phrases: surf the Internet, result, as for, all, most, some, no, high school.

2.        use the key sentences: 1) Here are the results of the student activity survey at Green High School.   2) As for homework, most students do homework every day.  3) The results for “watch TV” are interesting.

3.        read the magazine article to get the specific information.

4.        write a short passage about the students’ activities in your school.

Keys & Puzzles(教学重、难点):

1.       Words & phrases: as for, all, most, some, no.

2.       Read the magazine article to get the specific information and finish the tasks—answer the questions and translate some sentences into Chinese.

Teaching aids(教学用具): 

1.  Pictures, Lead-learning paper

Teaching procedures(教学步骤):

Step 1    Warm-up & Lead-in(热身与导入)

1.      Greetings.

2.      A dictation: how often, exercise, hardly ever, surf the Internet, once a month, twice a week, four times a day.  [来自三个不同组的三个中等生在黑板上写在黑板上。之后,由各组的学科组长组织小组内相互之间批阅,不记得的单词由小组长告诉或自己翻书找到。其它几个组的成员在这个过程中,可以自由上黑板纠错批阅。当所有答案都订正后,由一个组的一名学生上黑板带读这些单词和短语。最后,教师组织学生在听写本上订正,并记忆1分钟。]

3.      Check the homework exercise. (Each group shows their passage)

4.      Conversations: Show some pictures to each group to guide the students to do ask-and-answer practice:

A: What do you do on weekends?

B: I usually play soccer/ surf the Internet/ exercise…

A: How often does Li Jia go to the movies?

B: He goes to the movies twice a month.

Ask three or four groups to show their dialogues to the whole class.

   Ask the students to read the dialogues(Grammar focus) on page 2.

Step 2    Reading(阅读理解)

1.      Show a picture about the student activities at a school and ask the students to talk about the activities.

2.      Read the words in the right box and understand the differences between all, most, some and no.

3.      A further exercise to make the students understand them better.(Fill in the blanks with all, most, some and no. )

1)              students often read English magazines. (Most)

2)              students usually do homework. (Most)

3)              students always watch TV. (All)

4)              students often exercise. (Some)

5)              students shop every day. (No)

5.        Read the information in the boxes and the magazine article. Fill in the blanks individually.

6.        Read the magazine article again and answer the following questions:

1)      What do most students do every day?  ( Do homework and watch TV )

2)      How often do most students exercise?  ( Three or four times a week )

7.        Read the magazine article a third time and translate the following sentences into Chinese.

1)      Here are the results of the student activity survey at Green High School.

2)      Some students watch TV three or four times a week, but most students watch TV every day.

[以上的练习都是先学生个体完成,然后由学科小组长组织本组学生相互核对,相互讨论,相互订正,相互学习,相互帮助(小组互助)。向全班展示则是由中等生和中下生来完成,中上生和优生则组织和补充、释疑。]

8.        Read the magazine article aloud.

9.        Translation:

1)至于英语歌曲,大多数学生每天都听英语歌曲。

2)他一个星期看一次电影。

3)她爸爸一个月游泳三次。

Step 3    Group work(小组活动)

( SB Page 3, Part 4)

1.        Show some pictures and talk about how to improve English.

Read English books/ listen to English news (tapes)/ watch English news (movies) / remember English words / sing English songs / …

2.        Make conversations by using the former information. And add them to the chart.

A: How often do you read English books?

B: I read English books about twice a week.

3.        Make a survey: One student in each group asks all the group members about how often they do these things to improve their English and get the results.

4.        Show Time: Another student from each group reports the results to the whole class.

Step 4  Consolidation & Extension (Writing)(巩固提高写作)

1.        Write an article about what the students do to improve English according to the above results in groups.

2.        Show the articles to the whole class group by group.

 

Step 5    Homework(课外作业)

1.      A brief summary of this lesson.

2.      Read aloud the article in part 3 on page 3 and better the article about what the students do to improve English.

 

( 整堂课的每一个环节都是采用小组互助学习方式。突出学生的主体作用和老师的指导作用。这与杜郎口的小组合作学习模式相似,体现了洋思中学的“先学后教,当堂训练”的思想。有一种爱叫做放手,只有当老师大胆放手,在把握大方向的基础上,合理引导与精细释疑,让每一个学生都有机会参与教学过程,所有学生才会有体验,才会有不同程度的进步,才会尝试到成功,才会增强学习的信心。)
